Poetavango Arts Collective (Poetavango Spoken Word Poetry) is a community-based arts organisation in Maun, Botswana, dedicated to safeguarding and promoting intangible cultural heritage through the arts. Its mission is to develop, promote, and elevate performance, literary, and visual arts while preserving Botswana’s living heritage.
Key activities include the annual Maun International Arts Festival, the EU and Goethe-Institut-funded ‘Living Heritage’ project, the Commonwealth Foundation-funded ‘Amplifying Delta Voices: Art for Environmental and Social Accountability weekly’, ‘Around the Fire’ storytelling sessions, writers’ residencies, and community outreach. The organisation also fosters cultural exchange, youth empowerment, gender equality, and cultural tourism.
