Forum for national costumes of Norway is a nationwide membership organization of people who are all users or/and makers of tailored and handmade traditional costumes. The members are engaged in research and documentation of traditional folk costumes, as well as the development and production of folk costumes based on historical sources. We make these clothes for our costumers, our selves and our children, and keep the clothes safe for generations to come, and repair them when worn.

We meat in formal and informal ways to share knowledge. Through our organization we meet at least twice a year for studies of different aspects of the traditional costumes from different parts of Norway. Many of our members are teachers both in public educational system and in classes in adult-learning associations or local voluntary craft communities and NGOs.
