The Croatian Cultural and Artistic Society “Rodoč” is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 2001 in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Society is dedicated to safeguarding, promoting and transmitting the intangible cultural heritage of the Croatian community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while fostering intercultural dialogue, community participation and international cooperation.
The organization brings together more than 150 active members of all ages through folk dance ensembles, vocal groups, traditional music, educational workshops and cultural events. Its activities focus on preserving traditional dances, songs, customs, costumes, oral traditions and traditional craftsmanship, while encouraging the active participation of children and young people in safeguarding living heritage.
HKUD “Rodoč” organizes numerous cultural events throughout the year, including the Days of St. John the Baptist, the Children’s Folklore Review of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the annual concert “Blago naše…”, the Lenten Concert of Sacred Folk Chants, and the Ferdo Kovač Art Colony. Through these initiatives, the organization promotes cultural diversity, intergenerational knowledge transfer and community engagement.
The Society works closely with educational institutions, local communities, cultural organizations and public institutions, and has established partnerships at national and international levels. Since 2026, HKUD “Rodoč” has been accredited by UNESCO to provide advisory services to the Intergovernmental Committee under the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, further strengthening its commitment to the preservation and promotion of living heritage worldwide.
