About the NGO CAPACITY BUILDING workshop
Accredited NGOs play important roles at the national level, working with communities, states and other stakeholders to help implement the Convention and thereby assist in the safeguarding of ICH around the world.
With a view to sharing information and experiences between accredited NGOs internationally, and promoting opportunities for ongoing networking and sharing of skills at a regional level among its members, the NGO Forum has begun a capacity-building programme that will hold its first workshop in the Republic of Korea from 1-3 December 2017.
This three-day workshop will take place just prior to the Intergovernmental Committee meeting of the Convention. The language of the meeting will be English and French, with Korean translations provided for some of the sessions.

The ICH NGO Forum recognizes the generous contributions of the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation (CHF), supported by the government of the Republic of Korea, which has kindly borne the cost of hosting the December 2017 workshop, and of Indonesia, which supported a preliminary workshop and planning meeting in Paris in May 2017. The ICH NGO Forum thanks the UNESCO Secretariat for supporting and assisting the organization of Capacity Building and this workshop.

Informations concernant l’ Atelier de renforcement des capacités des ONG
Les ONG accréditées jouent un rôle important au niveau national car travaillant avec les communautés, les États et d’autres parties prenantes pour aider à mettre en œuvre la Convention et ainsi contribuer à la sauvegarde du PCI dans le monde entier.
En vue de partager des informations et des expériences entre les ONG accréditées au niveau international et de promouvoir les opportunités de mise en réseau et de partage des compétences au niveau régional entre ses membres, le Forum des ONG a lancé un programme de renforcement des capacités, dont le premier atelier se tiendra en République de Corée du 1er au 3 décembre 2017. Cet atelier de trois jours aura lieu juste avant la réunion du Comité intergouvernemental de la Convention. Les langues de travail seront l’anglais et le français, avec des interprétations en coréen pour certaines sessions.

Le Forum des ONG apprécie très positivement les généreuses contributions de la Fondation coréenne du patrimoine culturel soutenue par le gouvernement de la République de Corée qui a bien voulu supporter le coût de l’atelier de décembre 2017 et l’Indonésie qui a soutenu l’atelier préparatoire et la réunion de planification à Paris en mai 2017. Enfin, le Forum des ONG PCI remercie le Secrétariat de l’UNESCO d’avoir soutenu l’organisation de cet atelier de renforcement des capacités.
