Agenda 1 DECEMBER 2013 – ICH NGO FORUM SYMPOSIUM and MEETING

11:00-13:00     Symposium
for ICH NGO FORUM MEMBERS and open to all participants to 8.COM; state observers are welcomed.
11:00-11:10       Opening
11:10-12:30    4 symposium presentations (10 minutes) each followed by discussion (10 minutes)
12:30-13:00    plenary discussion with all speakers

13:00-14:30     Lunch

14:30-17:00     Business meeting for NGO representatives
14:30-16:00
– Reports by the NGO Forum working groups on their activities, progress, needs;
– Main issues concerning NGOs during the coming IGC meeting;
– Interventions by NGOs during 8.COM;
– possible resolutions;
16:00-17:00
– the further organizational steps for the NGO Forum.

VENUE
The NGO Forum Meeting and Symposium will be held Sunday 1 December 2013 in JW Marriott Absheron Baku  ( http://www.jwmarriottbaku.com ) situated in the city centre, in front of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism; 
The Forum will be held in the main meeting room – Sharg Hall – in order to provide direct retransmission of all the debates via web-cast.  Interpretation in English, French and Azeri will be provided during the NGO Forum (Azeri to encourage/support participation of local NGOs);  
We want to thank the Secretariat and the organizers in Azerbaijan very much for this strong facilitation of the NGO Meeting.

> Participants are asked to register before 27 November 2013 with Jorijn Neyrinck (info@tapisplein.be), by supplying (1) first name, (2) last name, (3) institution (NGO/ State/ Centre …) and (4) whether attending the morning session (symposium), afternoon session (business meeting for NGO representatives) or both.

> NOTE: All NGOs are strongly encouraged to read and prepare the documents of the Intergovernmental Committee 8.COM carefully, to act in the capacity of observer during the IGC meeting and have relevant contributions concerning the discussions and the decisions taken. Further orientation from the NGO Forum Committee may come later. The IGC documents will be posted on the ICH UNESCO Website at the latest one month before the session date. NGO’s that don’t attend the Baku session, can forward comments and reactions to the IGC documents to info@tapisplein.be. We’ll try to pass them on, but we can not promise.
