By June 3, 2025No Comments

Dear 2025 JIAPICH Applicants,

Thank you once again for your interest and participation in the 7th edition of the JIAPICH. We were honored to receive an unprecedented number of applications from across the globe — the highest in the history of the awards. It is a strong testament to the continued commitment of communities, organizations, and individuals working to safeguard intangible cultural heritage in creative and impactful ways.

This growth is due in large part to the outreach efforts of our newly launched Ambassador-at-Large Program. We extend our deepest gratitude to our ambassadors around the world, whose dedication and enthusiasm played a vital role in spreading awareness and encouraging participation in these awards.

We are pleased to announce the three finalists selected for the 2025 JIAPICH Awards, as well as the backup candidates who received high recognition from the jury.

2025 JIAPICH Finalists (in no particular order)

  • Wyang Sasak Puppetry School (Indonesia)
  • IEPE – Instituto de Pesquisa e Formação Indígena (Brazil)
  • Keshet NGO (Israel)

Backup Candidates (Honorable Mentions in no particular order)

  • Marimbea (Colombia)
  • Muzyka Zakorzeniona (Poland)
  • Toi Iho (New Zealand)
  • Foundation for the Safeguarding of the ICH of Rabat (Morocco)
  • Jose Encarnacion Lizarrage Covarrubias (Mexico)
  • Free Yezidi Foundation (Iraq)

This year’s selection process was highly competitive, and we want to sincerely thank each of you for the time, energy, and thoughtfulness you brought to your applications. Many of our past finalists earned that recognition only after submitting more than once, and we warmly encourage you to consider applying again next year.

In the coming weeks, the 2025 finalists will be publicly announced through several platforms, including ichngo.net, ichngoforum.org and the official Jeonju City homepage.

At present, we are in a brief public verification phase. Once this is complete and all finalist teams have been confirmed, formal invitations will be extended for the 2025 JIAPICH Award Ceremony, which is scheduled to take place in Jeonju, Korea on September 24, 2025.

In the meantime, we invite you to stay connected with us for further updates on the year’s schedule and the opening of the 2026 call for applications (anticipated in January 2026). You can follow us on Facebook or jiapich.org.

On behalf of the JIAPICH Secretariat, we wish you all the best in your continued work and look forward to crossing paths again in the near future.
